What happened to song transitions?
« on: October 14, 2011, 10:28:09 PM »
I just updated the other day, after using 2.6 for a long time and noticed that the songs no longer fade in/out when switching between songs... I looked through the settings to see if this was now an optional thing, but I can't find any setting for this.

Could you add this feature back as an option if it was removed or direct me to where it is if i'm just blind.

Are you using WASAPI or ASIO output? In these modes crossfading disabled, because not possible to crossfade two songs with different sample rate in bit-perfect output.
Also in version 2.8 (for WASAPI and ASIO) disabled fading when you click play/pause button for some reason, this feature will be enabled in next version.
All this doesn't apply to DirectSound output, it not changed in 2.8.

Ah, ok, that's why. I'm using Creative ASIO.

Is there any benefit to using these different devices?

I recommend to use DirectSound in most cases, but if you listen lossless music (FLAC, APE) and have high-quality acoustic system best choise will be ASIO.

Thanks, I do listen to a lot of flac and ape, so that's good to know.
