Winyl has playback problems in Windows 7
« on: April 09, 2010, 10:24:10 PM »
Opening Winyl and then select a sound file and double-clicking, Winyl displays the message: "Can not find the device to play this file."

The solution is to close and reopen Winyl several times or make filters for sound files, until finally, fails to recognize the sound device.

Try to change the output audio device in the advanced settings dialog.

My problem is a new window when i push the play button (trying to play mp3, mp4/aac, flac, ape...):

If i "change" the output audio device

(i only see a Default Audio Advice)

the songs are played well (mp3, mp4/aac, flac, ape...), but if i close winyl and open again, the same problem appear again!!!

How i could solve this bug??

Thx

Are you mean the audio device string is empty when you restart Winyl?

No, it not empty. Simply a mouse click on Default Audio Device (i only see the default), click on Ok and the files are played (when i push the play button).
If i don't make this "strange ritual", nothing can be played. I must to make it everytime i'm starting Winyl!! Very, very rare.

I put "Change" (in quotes) because nothing can be changed but if I don't as I have explained, the player does not work. I'm under Windows 7 ultimate 64bits

Note: sorry for my english, not my language.

Very strange bug, please check number of audio devices after this "strange ritual" (just open the settings dialog after this). Has something changed or it also shown only Default Audio Device?

Also, close winyl then open explorer file browser and enter to the address line %appdata%/winyl then find "Settings.xml" file and attach it to your next message.

Well, open Winyl and goes to Settings:

Now i can see the default and my soundcard. Select my soundcard, ok and push play button. All work perfect. If i select the default audio device, all work perfect too.

Now i close winyl, open again and... when the play button is pushed:

In setting now i can't see my soundcard, only default (like my latest post)

This is my Setting.xml:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
<Settings>
    <Version ID="2.1" />
    <DBVersion ID="1.0" />
    <Language ID="English" />
    <Skin ID="Light" />
    <WinPosition Left="244" Top="118" Width="786" Height="560" Maximized="0" />
    <WinPositionMini Left="803" Top="0" Width="300" Height="90" />
    <SoundVolume ID="100000" />
    <SoundMute ID="0" />
    <Device ID="-1" Bit32="0" SoftMix="0" />
    <Repeat ID="0" />
    <Shuffle ID="0" />
    <HideToTray ID="0" />
    <Animation ID="1" />
    <LastFM ID="0" />
    <MiniPlayer ID="0" Transparency="0" />
    <Popup ID="1" Position="3" ShowEffect="2" HideEffect="0" Hold="4000" Show="500" Hide="2000" />
    <Proxy ID="0" Host="" Port="80" Login="" Pass="" />
    <Library>
        <Node1 This="0" Type="2" />
        <Node2 This="0" String="Abigails Ghost" />
        <Node3 This="1" Artist="Abigails Ghost" Album="D_Letion" />
    </Library>
</Settings>

Any idea??
A big thx for your time, Alexander.

Hm.. Everything is good.
Please download this another test build:
http://vinylsoft.com/download/test/WinylTest2.zip
It show error number when you click play button, screenshot it.

Also try to run Winyl with administrator privileges (right click on Winyl.exe and select "Run as Administrator")

OK, download this fix version: http://vinylsoft.com/download/test/WinylFix.zip
Unzip all files from this archive to Winyl folder.
Inform me if the problem still appears with this fix version.
