Album grouping bug
« on: December 10, 2013, 12:35:52 AM »
I've been using Winyl for a while and I found some tag and grouping related bug.

1) Album with same name but different artist appear under only one artist in the album section in library or when searching. (See attachments)

2) A lot of M4A audio file encoded with Nero AAC and edited with MP3tag show genre field empty so they do not appear in genre section in library.

1. This is done to correct grouping collections. Sometimes it causes this problem. There is no way to know that a track is part of collection or just has the same album name like the album from an other artist. So it can't be fixed.
I recommend always fill both tags artist and album artist for all albums, this will avoid the problem.

2. Many tags related issues fixed in version 3.0 (beta will be released within 2 weeks).
Anyway please send me one of the files to make sure it's fixed.

I tried adding both artist and albumartist tag but nothing worked, I'll try some other workaround, anyway thank you for your clarification.

Ah, I see what the problem is. v2.9 always group by album name only. v3.0 will be also group by album artist.

And about the sample file, yes it's fixed in v3.0.
